IACUC OLAW Assurance

Rensselaer's A3538-01 Animal Welfare Assurance, as in accordance with the Public Health Service (PHS) Policy for Humane Care and Use of Laboratory Animals.

Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC)

The Rensselaer Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) is a research oversight committee that ensures that Rensselaer researchers provide humane care and follow ethical guidelines for all research involving animals. Rensselaer follows the National Institutes of Health Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals in conducting its animal-related research activities. Included are instructions for seeking approvals for new protocols and amendments to existing protocols.

Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC)

As a research oversight committeel, the Rensselaer Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) is responsible for helping ensure an environment in which scientific research at Rensselaer can advance in a safe, informed, and ethical manner.The IBC reviews and monitors all research involving the following materials, regardless of the source of funding: recombinant DNA or recombinant RNA molecules, plasmids and transposons, viruses and viral vectors, human and non-human primate cells, tissues and fluids, prions, bacteria, yeast, fungi, toxins, all pathogens, and select agents.

Institutional Review Board (IRB) Research Oversight Committee

The Rensselaer Institutional Review Board is a federally mandated, independent committee that reviews, approves, and monitors all human subject research. Included in the IRB's policies and procedures are the Institute's Policies, Procedures and Guidance for Human Subject Research. The policies and procedures related to payment of human research subjects can be found on the Division of Finance Policies and Guides webpage.

Micro- and Nano- Fabrication Clean Room (MNCR)

Policies and forms related to Clean Room use, for the safety and well-being of all users of the Micro and Nano Fabrication Clean Room (MNCR), as well as all other occupants of the Low Center for Industrial Innovation. Includes MNCR Fee Structure and MNCR Safety and Security Agreement.

Miscroscopy Suite

Information and policy regarding use of the Rensselaer Microscopy suite.

NMR Research Core

Information and policy regarding use of the Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Research Core — used for solution structure determination of small molecules (proteins, carbohydrates, and macromolecular complexes) at atomic resolution.

Proteomics Core

Information and policy regarding use of the Proteomics Core. The mission of this facility is to provide service and consultation on mass spectrometry to both on and off campus investigators.

Research Cost-Sharing Waiver

The goal of cost sharing, which may be granted for many reasons on sponsored research and other sponsored programs, is to enhance the competitiveness of Rensselaer's research proposals and to ensure optimization of resources that benefit the research enterprise. The Vice President for Research, the Vice Provost, and the Dean of Graduate Education will consider, individually or jointly, cost sharing when one or more specific conditions are met.
